Regarding The Whole Casey Anthony Thing

I do not condone the killing of toddlers, especially not cute ones, but anything that makes Nancy Grace so pissed off must have something going for it. And if Grace and a certain few I know in real life work themselves into a fatal stroke or aneurysm over this -- hope springs eternal -- I'm getting a sex-change operation and converting to Catholicism solely so I can work my way up to Pope and nominate Casey Anthony for sainthood.

I just love that you (and I and everyone else in the world who is not supportive of Caylee's law and leaving porch lights on to honor her in some imaginary way) have to first clarify that you don't condone the killing of toddlers.

Shouldn't that be obvious?

I finally have to agree with you. Killing kids isn't really murder or even child abuse (according to the jurors), that is if you are a woman. I can't help but wonder how much doubt would have been in those jurors minds if Casey had been the father...

Where were all these people when there was something positive they could have done? You know, when the kid was alive?
The whole concept of this, "Caylee's Law," is ridiculous. A better law would be that the parents of criminals must also be charged with the crime. Afterall, they raised a killer.

What annoys me most about the response to the case -- well, the two things which annoy me most -- one is the "I am a moral person because I am angry" brigade. These people no doubt view themselves as wonderful philanthropic lovers of humanity, and how, exactly, do they express this love -- by feeding the hungry? Sheltering the homeless? Tutoring the illiterate? Nah, it's more fun to talk about how you hate "that woman" or courageously offer to serve on her firing squad.

But even worse than those are the armchair legal experts who apparently believe "To hell with fair trials and notions of evidentiary standards, if a crime is hideous enough."

It should be as hard as possible for the government to convict someone. The deck is so stacked in their favor, it's good they get slapped in the face once in a while, even if someone is guilty. (I don't know if she is or not)

Nancy Grace belongs in the "I'm a moral person because I was censured by the Georgia Bar for withholding evidence from the defense" brigade.

I hope the aneurism is the kind of explosive one where the red jelly squirts out her eye sockets, and she falls down screaming like a high-speed power drill and drums her feet on the floor and shits her pants before she dies. And then they throw her worthless carcass out in the street and let the dogs chew on it.

I fucking HATE Nancy Grace.

Mom kills baby is a girls' story.

No guy is following it.

I assume Nancy Grace plays to her audience, soap opera women.

That's about 40% of women.

I consider myself on the Left, but my life goal is to purge these people from its ranks. Nothing bugs me more than this attitude, because it turns all of our problems into mere spectator sports and promotes the kind of passive, mediated politics that leads to the dysfunctional system in which we find ourselves.
